Picard Maneuver Quarterly Review

Greetings Stockholders, Fans, and Enemies of Picard Maneuver,

We are already in the fifth month of 2009 and it seems to look as if Picard Maneuver is “Recession/Flu Proof”, not to be mistaken for “Global Warming/Idiot Proof”. That’s right kidos, the Maneuver has had a great beginning this year and that is credited to your support. Be it actually coming to shows or even passing along false hope that you would’ve come if you only lived in Southern California, it is your continuing encouragement and threatening e-mails that keep our dream alive. A vision that shatters parental hope and disgraces college degrees. To that regard, we thank you.

The year started, as it always does, in January. Right away we took the entertainment capital by storm, Pasadena and Norwalk, by placing as finalist in both Uncle Clyde’s Comedy Competition at the Ice House (1st Place) and the Norwalk Comedy Competition, thus proving that Norwalk is a real place.

February we took the Chinese Ox by the horns and in the process got led poisoning, it was a month full of shows. Headlining at the Damn Show in North Hollywood proved to hipsters and pissed of African Americans that we knew how to bring the noise and the funk. Some where in between there was comedy. Finding a stage in our own backyard saved us on trafficked journeys to Orange County, Romancing the Bean became our comedy home. Like Mike’s parents moving four states away when he left for college, Romancing the Bean is now closed. Tells you the caliber we bring. The month ended on a high note performing at a benefit show. The cause, raising money to help a friend with horrendous medical bills. There is no joke in that, only that we we’re paid in medical supplies that Brian had stolen when he was hospitalized, a catheter goes a long way.

March brought us to new heights, I meant more coffee shops and magician friends. We gained access to the Bar Show at the county, possibly state-wide, infamous Magicopolis. A great show, where the magicians and comics perform behind a bar with you at the stools. One of the best shows we have played at, when we play there again it’s a show not to miss.

Then there was April. We became an internet sensation on the web’s solution to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, on“The Dukefightmaster Show”. Being interviewed by an audience of doped on Red Bull and dancing to Bikini Girls made the American Foreign Legion the place to be on Fridays in Laguna Beach. We stayed in Orange County headlining at the Gypsy Den for another round of great entertainment and in Huntington Beach went head to head with other comics at the “Ultimate Laff-down Competition”. Brought the month to a close with a show at the Norwalk Cal Youth Authority Juvenile Center. Our first prison show! We’re no where near Johnny Cash, but the kids seemed to enjoy us, that and just being out of their cells. Either way it was a riot.

So what does the rest of the year look like for Picard Maneuver? Are you still reading this?

More shows of course. Comedy Clubs, Coffee Shops, Poetry Readings, Filipino-town Festivals, College Campuses, Graduation Parties, and everywhere and anywhere comedy is welcome.
We’ll be accompanying those shows with brand new entertaining songs and acts that will stimulate the inner nerd in you.
Picard Maneuver merchandise, there is no better wedding gift than matching Picard Maneuver t-shirts and mace.
Keep an eye out for viral videos that are currently up our sleeves and will be invading your internet browser in the coming months.

Once again thanks for supporting us and still talking to us after bombarding you with e-mails. It’s all out of love, the love of whoring ourselves. Keep checking us out and come out to a show or two (we do a lot of free ones!). And to all those out side the bubble of Southern California, don’t worry. Airfare is cheap, come on out. Or we will soon be doing a show near you and bumming for a place to sleep, so keep in touch!

Live Long in Laughter Friends,

Picard Maneuver
